Dixon Jones and David Smith established Receptional Ltd in 1999 at a time when relatively few companies recognised the potential of the internet as a channel to market. Search engine optimisation and submission to directories were the major tasks, with relatively little time spent on banner advertising, which was the principal form of paid online advertising. However, we were early adopters of pay per click advertising, signing up to GoTo and Espotting when they arrived. Early in the millennium year, Stephen Maguire joined us as we moved to our offices in Flitwick and when Andy Langton brought his specialist technical skills the team started to grow.
