Facebook have launched their first mobile-only advertising offering this week, allowing marketers to buy Sponsored Stories for the News Feed specifically for mobile devices.

With nearly half of the 900 million Facebook users accessing their account through mobile devices, being able to focus specifically on those users is a big plus for Marketers, who can now specify exactly where they want ‘Sponsored Stories’ ads to appear; the desktop, mobile or both, alongside combining them with ad placements on the right-hand side of the desktop platform.

The conversion rates of the mobile ads will no doubt be a big focus for marketers in the near future, as consumer internet behaviour shifts to mobile devices, and browsing from phones and tablets becomes more ‘mainstream’.
