Receptional is one of the first online marketing companies in the UK to be awarded the badge of “Google Adwords Professional Company” after reaching all the requirements of this new accolade. In fact, Receptional had met all the requirements to join this small elite club from day one of the qualification’s inception (which was January 1st 2006). The requirements were at least two Adwords qualified staff (Receptional has four) and a number of other management requirements that needed to be met over a 90 day period.
The result – in tangible terms – is recognition on Google’s own site, but the real benefits are much greater. The badge helps to ensure that Receptional will manage client pay per click campaigns in a professional and expert manner. Staff had to go through a sometimes grueling learning curve on Adwords, culminating in an exam. The company qualified status also gives you the reassurance that Receptional can manage larger than average campaign budgets with depth of resource and – where required – receive help and assistance direct from Google itself by having a dedicated Google account manager.
In an interesting turn of events, Receptional has also had to lose the benefit of being Overture Accredited. This is only because Overture has now changed its name, however, rebranding last week to “Yahoo Search Marketing” in a long anticipated move. YSM as it is likely to be called, is in the process of developing its own accreditation scheme and we have already been told to expect to be first on the list when the scheme is ready for implementation.
