Microsoft Profit Jumps 31% Thanks to Office Sales
Microsoft has reported a sharp jump in quarterly profits, thanks to large sales of its Office applications. These profits come despite a drop in sales of its Windows operating system.
Net income for the first three months of 2011 was $5.23bn (£3.14bn), which represents a rise of 31% on the $4bn the multinational corporation made during the same timeframe in 2010. Revenue rose 13% up to $16.43bn.
