How Receptional generated a tenfold increase in revenue from organic traffic

Receptional started working with Bedroom Storage Maker, a provider of home storage solutions, in the autumn of 2014. At the time, the site converted little traffic. Our brief was simple – improve conversion rates so the traffic the site was attracting would generate more sales.

What we did

Here’s how we helped:

  • We used heat-mapping tools to see how users were using the site. This helped us understand the site’s audience and identify barriers that might prevent visitors from buying.
  • We set up a ‘goal conversion funnel’ to help us understand why conversion rates were so low. The data we collected highlighted pages on the site that were hindering the conversion process.
  • We designed new page layouts and revamped the site’s marketing messages. Once we found a design that increased sales, we rolled it out to all visitors.

The results

Our research, design and testing generated exciting results:

  • Conversion rates increased more than fivefold, from 0.29% in April to 1.65% by December 2015
  • Revenue performance was even better – organic traffic sales increased tenfold (1,074%) between November 2014 and December 2015
