Within days of Microsoft announcing their plans to operate its Streetside map service in Germany, the multinational corporation is having to deal with its first government objection.
Head of the Bavarian State Office for Data Protect, Thomas Kranig issued a statement giving objections to Bing’s plans.
These objections were mainly focused around Bing not planning to allow residents to opt-out before any photographs are published online. Bing plan to publish their photographs first and then give residents the chance to request image blocking – taking no more than two days to be processed.
