England Design and Technology Classes “Out of Date”

Education inspectors Ofsted have stated too many design and technology teachers at schools in England are failing to keep pace with global technological advances.

The report on the teaching of design and technology said modern technology was not being used enough in a third of the schools it surveyed.

The report also added that schools in France and China emphasise the study of robotics, electronics and computer-aided design.

89 primary, 89 secondary and two special schools were inspected in three years between 2007 and 2010.
