Google and the Associated Press (AP) have finally extended their long-term content deal. After months without a deal, Google News will continue to host AP stories and have access to AP's news feed.

From the announcement:

"We've extended our existing licensing agreement with the Associated Press that permits us to host its content on Google properties such as Google News. We look forward to future collaborations, including on ways Google and AP can work together to create a better user experience and new revenue opportunities."

This deal came about after the Associated Press made threats of suing Google after alleging copyright violations over how Google listed its news stories. Google disagreed with those allegations. The threats were around in 2009, as Google's contract with the AP entered its final year.

Now that they are getting along again, this deal keeps the AP among the 11 licensed news partnerships that Google maintains. The full list is as follows:
