Google Chromebook Goes on Sale in the USA

The first Google Chromebook laptop has gone on sale in the United States today.

Google claim the Samsung machine is a new way of computing – purposely being a browser-based laptop.

Currently, many applications available for Windows, Mac and Linux do not exist for Chrome.

Chromebook is available in WiFi only and Wifi and 3G models, on the US market for $429 (£266) and $499 (£310) respectively.  It is expected to sell between £349 and £399 when it launches in the UK in August.

Acer are due to start selling their Chromebook in the near future.
