Video game software developer Sega has confirmed personal date of 1.29 million of its users was stolen in an attack of its systems.

The Japanese company said that email addresses and dates of birth stored on the Sega Pass database were accessed by hackers.

Sega say that payment information, including credit card details remain safe.
