Microsoft Replacing Hotmail.com with Outlook.com

Microsoft will be dropping the brand name of Hotmail in an overhaul of its free webmail service.  The name will be replaced with Outlook.com.

The revamp of their service aims to help sort messages when they arrive and allow users to make calls on Skype.  And I love Skype.

Outlook.com will attempt to automatically sort your messages into different areas to distinguish between emails from contacts, social network posts, newsletters and other identifiers determined by the user, to help tackle the problem of cluttered inboxes.

Microsoft will be looking to win over users from rival Google and their Gmail service.
