Any unfortunate victim would be allowing attackers to take control of an unprotected computer. Microsoft has given a workaround whilst Microsoft works on a permanent solution.

Microsoft has produced updates that improve memory management, but security research showed that protection systems are not called upon when some older parts of Windows are used.
