Internet overseer Icann have given the final approval for the creation of an internet domain dedicated to pornography.

Icann had initially approved the application last year, but carried out further checks over the application. The move to create a top level “.xxx” domain has ended a 10-year battle.

It is now posed to sign an agreement with the ICM Registry, which is backing the domain, to make .xxx a reality.

ICM said last year that it had more than 100,000 pre-reservations of .xxx domains.
