YouTube Founders Acquire Delicious from Yahoo

The founders of video-sharing website YouTube have purchased the bookmarking service Delicious, from Yahoo.

Chad Hurley and Steve Chen sold YouTube to Google Inc. for $1.65bn (£883m) in November 2006.  They will use Delicious as a key part of their next online venture, named Avos.

The price of this purchase has not been revealed.

Delicious is a social bookmarking system, allowing its users to flag and tag websites, articles and media in which they find interesting.  These are then shared with other Delicious users.
