Best use of banner ads can attract users

Making the best use of banner advertisements can help internet marketers attract users, it has been revealed.

Writing on Promotion World, Terry Detty claims audiences are likely to click on a banner advert targeted towards the area they are carrying out an internet search on, leading them to make a purchase.

He stated: "Internet advertising with banner ads has their own unique qualities that will boost web sales."

Mr Detty also advised that the medium can be of particular use to companies new to internet marketing who wish to expose their products and services to a large audience quickly.

Meanwhile, he pointed to research stating that banner adverts often receive a higher number of clicks when they are made to appear as similar to the rest of a website as possible.

Findings by Avenue A / Razorfish earlier this week revealed that targeting users between the ages of 18 and 24 could be crucial for companies wishing to increase their internet revenue.
