As a result of the purchase, the search engine firm claims that clients of its AdWords service will be able to achieve "broader distribution to an even wider audience of users".
Susan Wojcicki, vice president of product management for Google, said: "We're excited to continue offering the exceptional tools of FeedBurner to content creators throughout the world and our teams will work together to improve the experiences of feed users, advertisers and publishers."
Ms Wojcicki added that online marketers will now have greater use of tools such as RSS feed-driven ads which can be used to further target users.
She also claimed that the move will help Google become more active in providing online advertisers with a "monetisation option for feeds".
AdWords clients are being advised that they can sign up and use FeedBurner's services immediately.
Last week, Google announced it was implementing AdSense into its Maps service, which will allow advertisers the opportunity to provide links to company websites within pop-up icons.
