Title tags are crucial in terms of improving search engine optimisation (SEO), it has been suggested.
Writing on Search Engine Guide, Jennifer Laycock advises that use of the tags is the best way for companies to increase their organic search results.
She added that title tags are particularly important as search engines are "looking to replicate human judgment" when determining how useful a website is.
Ms Laycock also claimed that tags are important as "humans rely heavily on the title tag to make judgments about a site" and they are "the first chance that a company has to earn a conversion".
She suggested companies should look to integrate keywords into their title tags in a bid to improve SEO results.
Meanwhile, those marketers looking to increase incoming traffic were advised that users will generate links to websites "whether you make it easy for them or not" and that as a result companies should concentrate on optimising their content.
Last month, Shaun Crowley wrote on Freelance UK that online marketers should carry out as much analysis as possible into discovering which keywords are most effective in improving SEO.
