Bing Adds More Facebook 'Likes' to Search Results

Microsoft Bing has taken another step towards becoming a “social engine” as it has further emphasized social content through more integration of Facebook and ‘Likes’ data.

These additional changes to make Bing a more social experience are:

Trusted Friends – Deeper and broader integration of your networks’ ‘Likes’.  Thus showing results that are preferred by friends in your network.

Collective IQ – Aggregated Facebook date.  Ie the most popular sites and stories etc.  This is the collective data of every user and not just your own little network of friends.

Enabling Conversation – Bing is seeking to be clever here, by indentifying people in your network who they believe may be able to help you. Ie someone who is knowledgeable about the desired subject.

The Bing toolbar now includes a ‘Universal Like Button’, enabling us to tag any site or page we visit to help create more social recommendations.
