Facebook have released a trio of new chat features, including the integration of Skype video chat.

The new features of the newly redesigned chat interface include group chats and video chat.

The group chat does exactly what you’d expect; allowing users to chat with multiple friends at once, simply by selecting “Add Friends to Chat”.  You can even add friends to the chat that are not online, and those friends will receive a summary of the chat afterwards.

The new Facebook video chat feature is in collaboration with Skype.  Users can click the video call button at the top of their chat window to start a call.  For those friends who aren’t online, you can leave a video message for them.  Downloading of a plug-in is required to enable this feature.

To get started, go to www.facebook.com/videocalling.  The application is currently unavailable on mobiles.
