Broadband consumers frustrated with customer service standards

While the majority of broadband internet users are satisfied with their connection services, may of them are less than happy about the standard of customer service they receive through their supplier, according to new research.

In all, more than nine out of ten broadband users described themselves as happy with the reliability and quality of their service; however 25 per cent of those asked stated their frustrations when it came to customer service.

The recent survey was carried out by Point Topic in its latest broadband consumer survey, e-consultancy reports.

Some analysts suggest that the lack of quality customer services reflects the trend of broadband providers overreaching themselves in the race to sign up new customers.

Chief executive at Point Topic, Tim Johnson is quoted as saying: "Service is starting to move up the scale of customer concerns very quickly.

"It could soon be one of the biggest factors in choosing an ISP".

The ISP Review website reported earlier this year that the top ten ISPs in the UK take as much as an 88 per cent share of the broadband market.
