Although Google Earth shows pictures of recent London buildings such as the new Wembley stadium and the 'Gherkin' tower at 30 St Mary Axe - Manchester's revamped Piccadilly approach and Urbis centre being shown as half complete.
Meanwhile, Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre is still shown as a construction site, despite work finishing on the building in 2003. Pictures for Liverpool were also shown to be outdated.
Google spokesperson Rachel Whetstone claimed some cities were less up-to-date than London because the company relies on others to supply them with pictures.
"We want to give people the best service we can and so not doing it for London just because we can't do it for other cities would seem wrong."
Using satellite images to create 3D maps, Google Earth allows users to get a bird's eye view of locations around the world.

I wish to share news that an address in SE London has an image of a building being constructed. Image date says 2008, banner of the now defunct Housing Corporation clearly visible.
I received a notice from somebody now living in that building regarding a mutual exchange, so it needs updating promptly. Any contact details for google maps available?
After reading the previous post I feel compelled to say that London maps are not as up to date as one might imagine. :-/
Two years out of date is quite common, I notice this on regular google map searches. All in SE London.
