Car dealer doubles online ad spend
Network Q has announced it is to double its spending on internet advertising.

The second-hand car retailer claims the move comes following a study which revealed about a third of customers are using the internet as their prime information resource on used cars before they visit the forecourt, reports Netimperative.

Marketing and operations director for Network Q Mike Brown told the publication: "Following the results of our research, we have adapted our marketing and advertising campaigns to reflect the new demands of modern consumers while widening our media reach."

Network Q is now set to look towards search engine optimisation opportunities with Yahoo! and Google as the company attempts to ensure it is one of the top brands to appear in online searches for used-car dealers.

Research by Travolution indicates Britain's top 20 travel firms increased their spend on internet advertising by more than 50 per cent during 2006 to £14.6 million compared to £9.7 million spent in 2005.
