'Online videos taking up TV viewing time'
Figures released by ICM, in conjunction with the BBC, claim that 43 per cent of people who watch videos on the internet or on mobile phones at least once a week will watch less television.
The survey also argues online and mobile viewing is increasing – with around 75 per cent of users saying they watch more of it now than they did last year.
However, only nine per cent of the country claims to regularly watch videos over the internet.
The study also reports ITV and Channel 4, as well as the BBC, are planning to let users watch most of their programmes online by the start of 2007.
Earlier this month, Google bought video sharing website YouTube for $1.65 billion.
Meanwhile, a report by e-Marketer claims America's online video advertising market is set to be worth $3 billion by 2010.
