Receptional Google Event: Easy Wins for SEO and PPC and the Future of Digital

With spring finally arriving, team Receptional (alongside at least a few hundred other bleary-eyed commuters) caught the 6.30am train into the capital, heading to the incredible Google Headquarters for another of our highly anticipated seminars. The day’s event, entitled ‘Easy Wins for SEO and PPC and  the Future of Digital’ was put together to teach businesses how they can make simple changes to their digital strategies to monetise  the current trends in the tech world.

The morning started with a light breakfast including fruit, teas and coffees, followed by the day’s first talk by Business Development Manager, Greg Tickner, on ‘Easy Wins for SEO and Pay-Per-Click (PPC)’. The talk covered how important it is to keep up with the ever-changing, rapidly evolving, world of digital marketing. Subjects such as Paid advertising, page rankings and broad match were discussed, as well as answering plenty of questions from our captivated audience.

The next part of our morning came from Senior Paid Search Consultant, Andreas Tantallidis, his talk focused on Google Shopping, and how retail brands can use this to their advantage to correctly target their audience and increase sales. The topics covered elements such as expanded text ads (ETAs), re-marketing and the importance of voice search.

After a brief break for coffee and some delicious sweet treats in the form of cakes, scones and macaroons, we moved onto our third section of the morning, this time being led by Head of Paid Search, Matt Loughlin. His talk on ‘What’s New in PPC for 2018?’ gathered plenty of interest from our full house audience and covered important topics such as ad spend, dynamic keyword insertion and the importance of your audiences.

To round up our morning, Google’s Agency Development Manager, Sabrina Garufi, from the Dublin HQ, gave her talk on the future of digital, machine learning, AI and the importance of businesses keeping up with the rapidly changing world of modern technology.

The feedback was hugely positive, with plenty of guests sticking around after the event to chat, shake hands and exchange details, as well as making enquiries about our ever-popular health checks, a free service that we offer to businesses to show them the fixes they can implement  to improve their online presence, website quality, and in turn, their profits.
